Prenatal Twin Loss and the Spiritual Dimensions of Embodiment

The theme of twin loss is often explored in a reductionistic way, lacking the wider context of the spiritual dimension of embodiment and life in the womb. This workshop will explore this wider context drawing from clinical practice, as well as different traditions, including Tibetan Buddhism, Taoism and different indigenous perspectives. Mixing theory with experiential exercises we will explore our own relationship with a lost twin and how we may work with this theme with clients. The workshop is open to anyone who is interested in this subject, not only those who identify themselves as having lost a prenatal twin.

Themes include:

  • Spirit, soul and ego as different fields of consciousness.
  • Divine homesickness and our relationship with Source.
  • Differentiating twin loss from other forms of loss.
  • The prenatal twin as the primary attachment figure.
  • The catastrophe field
  • Palpating the lost twin in the energy field.
  • Dreams of prenatal life.
  • Rituals to honour the lost twin. Working with twin themes with babies.
  • Working with twin loss themes with children.
  • Working with twin loss themes with adults.
