Conscious Embodiment Trainings
Conscious Embodiment Trainings was founded in 2007 by Matthew Appleton and Jenni Meyer to promote awareness of how our experience in the womb, during birth and early infancy impact us as individuals and in society. Since then we have trained many practitioners to work in this field and supported many individuals in experiential workshops to discover how these early experiences have shaped their lives. We have a growing international community of people who have worked with us over the years, spanning a multitude of backgrounds.

He has more than 20 years experience of lecturing and facilitating workshops in the UK, Europe, South Africa and America. Drawing from these influences, he has developed a form of embodied dreamwork called ‘Dream Gestation’.
"Conscious Embodiment Trainings is where the various paths of my life’s work meet and weave together. I have learnt not only from the many teachers I have trained with, but most of all from the children, clients and students who it has been my privilege to work with over the years. Being with others who are working to become more conscious and to embody who they really are is a constant source of enrichment in my life."
Jenni Meyer RN RM BSc Hons RCST

She has also assisted and taught Craniosacral therapy with the Institute of Craniosacral Therapy. Jenni now teaches on many of the Conscious Embodment courses. Her home is now in Bristol where she has a busy Craniosacral Therapy practice.
"I have experienced and seen in others how transformative both Craniosacral Therapy and Birth Process work can be. It is the chance to engage with the patterns that organise us. Some of these ways of being were laid down in us very early and are still influencing the way we are now. Bringing into consciousness how we react from these unconscious places frees us up to live in more connection with our true selves and the universal consciousness"

"Little thought is given to the way we do things and why. Often lives are shaped by our earliest experiences without understanding why. Through my experiences as a mother, therapist and from my own personal journey I have developed a much healthier relationship with myself and my ways. I truly believe this work offers the potential for change and from this change, freedom. My greatest pleasure is witnessing this process unfold in those I work with"

"Pre and Perinatal healing has an important role to play in helping us to free up deeply held and limiting behaviour patterns that are getting in the way of our capacity to be present and to live more full and satisfying lives. It is wonderful to witness, both as a student and as a therapist when more space and more grace becomes available"

"A miracle occurs when I find a not judgmental space of deep listening of the earliest stories of my life. I found this space in the field of Craniosacral and Pre and Perinatal and with all the community of people who are working to became more present and embodied. In my work is an everyday surprise to see how much this attunement to the early events of life can be transformative. People feel recognized and seen and I’m honoured to witness that."
Julie Nettleship
Julie is the course administrator for Conscious Embodiment Trainings. She is also a MBACP registered Counsellor working with Children and Young People. Julie’s personal journey of conscious embodiment has covered various modalities including Stan Grof’s Holotropic Breathwork, Embodying Embryology with Cherionna Menzam-Sills and Integrative Baby Therapy with Matthew and Jenni.
"Through my own personal work exploring body sensations and self limiting beliefs I have arrived at the beginning! I am curious about how I have been shaped by my most formative experiences of conception, life in the womb and the process of birth. I am interested in exploring body memories left over from these experiences to discover how my psyche has been imprinted, and ultimately to transform ways of being which no longer serve me."
Carol Berenyi
Carol has been called a visual and linguistic communicator. A painter and artist fluent in five languages, parents from Budapest, born in the U.S.A., and living in Italy for nearly half a century, she developed a deep interest in pre and perinatal psychology through her long-term friendship and collaboration with Silja Wendelstadt, a Reichian body psychotherapist and pioneer in the field. Together, in the mid ‘90’s, they established the Eva Reich Research Centre in Rome. There Carol began translating for Thomas Harms in a five-year body psychotherapy training program in Emotional First Aid. In 2006 she became the official translator for the newly founded Italian program of the School of Body Mind Centering°, in trainings of somatic movement education and infant developmental movement education. In 2010 she joined the Inflow/In Origine team as Matthew Appleton’s translator for all his Italian trainings and workshops.
"With my love for linguistics and my total respect for deep communication in all phases of life, what great good fortune to have been introduced to Baby Body Language – so passionate, so profound, so universal!"

She has done several trainings and continues with ongoing education in this field. Mainly, her great teachers are her own children and the babies and children who seek help in her practice every day. She is also on the board of the International Society for Pre- and Perinatal Psychology and Medicine Switzerland and organises Matthew and Jenni’s courses in Switzerland with great dedication and gratitude.
